So, I see adds for the Ruger American Ranch rifle for sale.
As an example, the bolt action 7.62x39 rifle uses Mini 30 mags.
So.......
Since the Mini 30 is now prohibited in Canada (an evil yucky gun!!)
Does that mean that I can now use unpinned 20 rd Ruger mags in the American Ranch? Since (clearly) the only gun they can be used for in Canada is the bolt action American Ranch???

Mags still need to be pinned. Its not what they fit in but what they were originally designed for: a semi auto centerfire

I don’t own a 7.62x39 version but canadian vendors list them with a 5 rounds magazine and those exist from factory

The 7.62x39 Ruger Ranch comes with a 5rd Mini 30 mag. Every higher capacity Mini 30 mag being sold in Canada is pinned to five. So, there is no gain here with buying a higher capacity (20 or 30 rds) Mini 30 mag.

Weird I had traded yesterday, a RAR in 6.5 Grendel (AKA 6.9x39) which is a resized 7.62x39 case and it uses an AR mag with the blue follower .

Might be able to ask Ruger to build 30 round mini mags stamped for the Ruger American, would have to ask someone like IRG or prophet river to make a request, but I’m somewhat doubtful, then again can’t hurt to ask.
