Stitsville Range question!!

They're planning to put up new baffles hopefully by spring across that whole range.
While we are on the subject...of Stittsville that it...is there any hope of there ever being more than 300yds? Or is Connaught the last resort for someone wanting to reach out a bit?
Either one is a PIA to get to for me anyway, its a 3hr round trip drive from here in Alexandria Ont. to either one, and $35.00 just in gas. But it would be more interesting if the range could be extended...someday? Never? Anyone know if the limitation is property margins or profit margins?

Not going to happen since the NCC put in the pathway behind the ranges. Back like 20 years ago they had a 500y range but the NCC made them remove it.
So as far as I know, 300 is going to be the maximum they probably ever have.
Right now they ( EOSC ) are at 200yds. A friend just returned from a weekend 'mandatory' safety course, required for all new members, and inquired for me while he was there, as to the substance of the above mentioned rumour of expansion. His take was that it is something the membership would like to do...but given the emphases on handgun and 'tactical weapons' the shorter ranges are a priority. Not much of a push behind the 'wish' for longer ranges. They may get an expansion on the number of stands at the 200yd but until some serious effort, ( translation: 'volunteer' effort ), gets behind the 'longer' range wish, it doesn't seem much will happen in the near future.
Plus the cost of a new membership is over $600.00 including the new member 'safety' course, ( 306.60 for the course, 293.60 one year membership, + 28.25 for new membership 'fee'...total $627.85 )...which is a little steep for me...for 200yds.
I'll wait till they actually do the extension, meanwhile Stittsville will have to do. Plus I like the setup there, pretty friendly bunch.

Well Jim, Congratulations to your friend. Your info is wrong though.
I am a member & RO at EOSC and have spoken with the owners. This is something that the owner has planned, although the rifle shooting members want this as well.
As well, your membership costs are way off. The new member course is 25 dollars plus the cost of the membership of 293.60 which includes taxes and a CSSA membership. Stittsville is far more expensive.
Not sure what other course you're talking about...there is no other.
As well at the EOSC you can shoot at any time you wish and not 2 or 3 days of the week, assuming the ranges are not rented out.
Did I mention that they're a pretty friendly bunch....

It is very clear.
The amounts that you are looking at are prorated. As time go buy, the amount decreases.... Notice the dates?????
As well, this includes the 25 dollar charge for the safety course.
Look a little higher up on the page under "things to note" and you will see the 25 charge for the new members course.
If you click on one of the courses, you will see that it includes the course and membership and CSSA as well.

I know the owner personally as he's my moose hunting partner. I'll talk to him when he is back from down south in a couple of months and will confirm when the 700y ranges will be completed. I drove around the property with him many times after he bought the new 40+ acres of land for the club expansion. That was way before the 5-stand opened too, so it's been in the works for a while now.
The owner had to also built the new heated bathrooms, which took alot of his time. I helped in the way of furnishing the steel roofing material for it.

Ben....I'm assuming you worded that wrong...
The cost including everything is 328.60 for a full year not including the new member's course.
The prices listed with each course is pro-rated and include the safety course.
I will also add...the family membership is the same price.
It also includes all disciplines.
At Stittsville that would be $550 for one person...$650 for family.

I was assuming that there was no requirement to do the 'safety course' every year...duh. It was very clear that this was a 'new member' cost only. The annual membership is clearly stated as being $293.60 per year. But having read the web site 'new member' page a couple of times it seemed pretty clear also that the required 'safety course' for 'new members', ( as the screen shot above shows...) has a cost of $306.60, for the next available date, Feb 09/14.
No where does it state that that cost, $306.60, includes a 1 year membership as well...if that is the case then it would help the cause if it was a little more clearly stated...no?

The cost for the membership is not $600, as JakFrost said earlier......Let's not argue about a couple of bucks
It's around $300 and not $600./end
That is correct, there's no need to do the safety course on a yearly basis. There is a clause however that if you let your membership lapse one year and you're not a member for an X amount of time that you'll need to redo it. But if you shoot often (and you should) that won't ever be an issue.
