I bought a new Bell and Carlson Tactical Medalist to put my Remington sps-tac into. I hate the hinged floorplate so I also bought a new PTG flush fit bottom metal and an AI .223 mag to finish it up.

I know the bottom metal is of an M5 inlet dimensions so I knew I was going to have to do some work to make it fit. However, it seems like the back of the magazine well is going to need a notch cut out of it for the bolt to slide over so that the whole bottom metal will sit snugly enough to the action to feed properly. Is this normal?

Also, it seems like the .223 ten round mag is going to need a small notch cut out of it as well because there is a small "nubbin" just forward of the trigger mounting area on the action that prevents the magazine from sitting properly. Is this normal?

After about 5 hours of careful dremmeling and fitting, I've got it nearl fitting. The biggest problem is getting the whole bottom metal to sit deeper into the stock, as its a pain trying to dremmel out the pillers in the stock.

Any advice is appreciated.

Well with no replies I was able to get the feeding issues worked out. I didn't have things assembled quite right.

Still have to work on the depth of the bottom metal into the stock and should hopefully have it up and shooting by the end of the weekend
