Last fall I bought a Rem 700 Bdl 338 Win Mag.Took it out for late season moose when I got back home Inoticed that ther was a spot on the stock about the size of a pea, that the clear finish just let go.Is there a way to touch it up or do I have to refinnish th whole stock.

Question #2 How do you get the old finsh and stain off of checkering (different rifle)

Question #3 Has anyone used Krylon webbing paint on a synthetic stock and how did it adhere to stock and how did it stand up.

1. Yes, but you will have to determine the finish...do a google search for how to ID finishes. If it's laquer, thats the easiest as laquer will "melt in" to pre-existing coats. A light sand, de-grease and brushed on laquer will do it. A wet sand and buff will blend it seamlessly.
If it's Poly, it's tougher....you'll have to sand a larger area (to give the poly some tooth), then try and blend it with abrasives.

2. Chemical stripper, stiff nylon brush

3. Sorry, only deal with wood :)
