Lurked around long enough and got great info about my somewhat new m14. But now its time to ask for some help.
I ordered one of those boyds factory 2nd stocks 2weeks ago (chipped screw hole for the butt plate, no big deal). it has bedding cuts already done some light staining but otherwise, unfinished.
first thing i noticed when i tested it out was the receiver had alot of side to side play, but could that be more room for bedding?
another was when i installed the trigger assembly and did the safety test. Hammer locks back fine but when i keep the trigger held back and rack/release the action, the hammer follows the bolt.
I looked at the fitment of the stock and noticed the right side of the reciever isn't sitting flush with the stock. and the groove on the left side where the handguard clip fits into, is so low on the stock that it pops off when trying to get the receiver in.
any thoughts would be appreciated.
