For the longest time, I've been running a USGI birch stock on my Norinco, and I recently acquired an IDF ('ex-sniper') stock from Wolverine Supplies. I tried fitting the new stock, and noticed two things;

  • The stock has no retaining screws on the sides for the liner
  • The stock's fitment is slightly off; The trigger assembly will almost nearly fit, but catches when I go to push the trigger guard down.

Hopefully I created that list right... any suggestions for fitting?

Kinda hard to visualize the second issue - does the trigger assembly fully seat itself (but the trigger guard won’t lock) or is it just not seating at all?

The first issue is straightforward - USGI fiberglass stocks do not use a stock liner.

does the receiver fit flush onto the stock, no interference? look at the bottom of the receiver to see if there is a ridge that would interfere. stock may need some trimming.

I'll try and get some images up soon - Everything seems to fit flush, then when I go to put the trigger assembly in (which fits flush, as it would in a wood stock), I press the guard down (to lock it), and it won't go all the way.

I assume It's some material in the magazine well/trigger cutout that needs to be removed.

you may have to measure , then evenly file down the 3 trigger bearing pad areas on the stock until you can engage the trigger guard properly. A common fitment procedure for wood and glass stocks both.
Ideally it should need a bit of pressure to fully lock in the trigger guard but the tension shouldn't be felt until the last 1/4" of gap or so before locking in.
There are.... or were ... some good stock fitment posts in the m14 sticky threads.
certainly look for obstructions before making any modifications though.
