So I tried small bore silhouette for the first time today and was having a blast. On my last set my cz toppled over and cracked the stock.
So I need a new stock for my CZ 452 varmint, preferably suitable for silhouette hunter class.
I cannot seem to find anything other than Boyd's new AT-1
Does anybody know of any alternatives? I would be willing to try reasonably priced Canadian custom stock maker if that's what it takes to get my CZ back.

YoDave might have some advice on whats available to you.
Google his name and shoot him an email with a suggestion.
Your OEM Stock is beyond repair ?
Whats wrong with Boyds if I may be so bold as to ask?
Sorry, I can not offer a solid offer of assistance, but there will be more knowledgeable guys chiming in soon.

there are a few custom stock makers in the USA that know all to well about the rules regarding silhouette rifles, weight, length, cheek piece yadda yadda yadda.......

I would throw and add in the EE, there might be someone that went to a Boyds that would consider selling you their old factory stock. Just be aware that if you order a stock from boyds you cannot have an adjustable cheek piece to be legal, it mus be permanently affixed to the stock

If you find a stock you like in the states but they will not ship to you here in canada then go through prophet river for importing, I've done it a few times and it is painless, well except for the wait.......

post pictures of the break........many of us may be able to guide you in a repair

I thing a simple glue and clamp job will repair the stock, I am sad because it was such an unusually beautiful piece of wood.
I was thinking of turning this misfortune into an opportunity to upgrade.
And if I'm going to upgrade I want to do it right. Boyd's does have several good options, l just wanted to know what else is out there.IMG_0468.jpg

any option other then Boyds could cost you close to $1000.........how boyds can do it cheaper then anyone else can buy either the walnut or laminate is absolutely beyond me

I have the action running like butter on this thing and a trigger job that is superb but I've not been able to complete the 1/2 inch group challenge with this gun, maybe a new stock and barrel will turn this into a completely different gun

depends.........you want to set it up to shoot benchrest? or silhouette?

action screw torque.......start there......when you gets a new stock.......

I do like bench shooting, did play with torquing but one days magic combo never seemed to work on the next outing. Seems like ambient temperate plays a big part with this gun - oh the joy of rimfire. Also a somewhat new shooter may play a small part.

Consider a Boyds Pro Varmint stock. They are available with and without an adjustable cheek piece. They have a good fit (the three that I've had did). For bench shooting they are better than the factory stock.

I would like to get a Boyd's stock but they don't list the 452 Varmint 22lr as an option. They have a 452 with "bull barrel" and the 453 Varmint 22lr.
I contacted Boyd's to clarify, and the said "ask CZ".
So I would have bet $129US that the 452 Varmint and the 453 Varmint were dimensionally identical, both with the quirky barrel fastener, the only difference is the triggers.
I contacted CZ and they seemed confused and final said they looked at both rifles and they are quite different and there stocks not interchangeable.
So, is there anyone here that has ordered a Boyd's stock for. CZ452 Varmint and, if so, which model did you choose from their menu.
I will be able to resolve this soon because my buddy has a 453 Varmint and i am going to swap actions and see if it fits.
And thank you Gunnutz for being the most reliable source of shooting information.

I just dropped my gun. I was participating in my very first Silhouette match and they had these nice stands at the line.
I picked up my rifle and the scope sun shade caught on the underside of the stand and my rifle popped out of my hand.
