stock inleting

If you are looking for something to use for spotting in, I find prussian blue works well. Soot from an oil lamp also works well, but takes longer to coat the parts and, with my luck, I would likely end up burning my shop down.

I’ve only ever used Jerrow’s Inletting Black for spotting in. It was cheap, effective and readily available from Brownells. Unfortunately Brownells no longer carrys it but it is available from other businesses.

I use anti-seize lubricant.
A trick mentioned on here years ago… forgot by who but thank you whoever you were.
Can easily be found at your local can-tire, the silver compound can't be mistaken for anything else on wood and cleans up easily enough.
As a bonus it also works great on nuts and bolts for my pickup… who would have thought. :p

i am sure going to try this ..i have a lot of never-seize

I use a camp stove fuel can with a screw top - dumped out all the glycol and replaced with kerosene and a cotton camp stove wick. works better than anything I have ever tried. and cheap as hell.
