Hi: I don't know where to post this so i will try here. Anyone know of a very good book on making rifle stocks.I am practising checkering on small pieces of walnut. I think that will be the hardest part. Any experience out there? Thank's Dan
 
The book you want THE definitive book on the subject, is "Professional Stockmaking" by David L. Westbrook. ISBN 978-1879356153. Search on Google and you can find a retailer that sells it.

I bought it a few years ago and it blew me away. The photos are taken "Through the eyes of a stockmaker" (the subtitle of the book) and it's amazing how well it lays it out.

Buy the book, you'll thank me.
