My girlfriend is on the search for a rifle, specifically a Remington pump .308. Now to make things difficult she does not like a monte carlo stock as she refuses to mount a scope on any rifle she owns. So I have a question,
Can you get a stock to put on a 7600 that has a straight comb? The 760 had a straight comb but they are next to impossible to find in a .308 with the newer style forearm. Its also very difficult to find a used older style 7600 with the straight comb. Any suggestions? She's been looking for over a year and so far no such luck.

I see some people put 870 youth model stocks on 7600's. Not sure how the length compares.
I've been thinkin about doing it and having a peep and quick detach mounts so I can put the scope on when I'm sitting.

"...next to impossible to find in a .308..." Hasn't been made since 1981. She'll have to go with a custom or aftermarket stock. Nearly all of 'em have scopes installed.
Contact this guy. He's not Numrich. He lists straight comb Rem 7600 stocks in wood and synthetics. Not terribly expensive either. Don't know if he ships to Canada. http://www.gun-parts.com/remingtonstocks/

Numrich has what you're looking for, but they have a $25 USD surcharge on exports:

Bob's Gun Parts does not ship to Canada, according to their homepage.

I would try Western Gun Parts in Edmonton:

Thanks warren. The girlfriend just may have found her rifle. Considering how she's bouncing off the walls I think the search is finally over. We're headed out in the morning to take the final look and most likely bring it home. Its a used older 7600 with the straight stock in awesome condition.
Keep your fingers crossed for us!
