Stock options for Savage Target action rifle build??

Hirsch Precision carries the Dolphin.

Maybe they do, but their web-site doesn't list anything besides a bunch of Barnard inlets, and the Remington short action in two colours. If they have Savage, they're not telling the wide world on the web.

Again, this is a problem across the board when looking to modify your precision rifle in Canada. The web sites of the various builders, fine fellows all, do not actually yield an easy list of options you can pick and choose; often they don't even scratch the surface of what would be available from them. This makes it seem like availability up here is less than it actually is, which is discouraging. Sure you can call or e-mail to discuss a custom build in the most intricate depth. But often people just want a little tweak, and most shoppers just want to put something in the cart and check out. They have plenty of work without easily inviting more casual browsers, it would seem.

The first question when somebody is looking for a stock is, realistically are you looking for a $199,95 option or a $1.000+ one? Next is how good are you at waiting, dealing with importing, and all those hurdles?

Was shooting yesterday at Connaught fellow had a Savage Palma stock with three way adjustable butt system, and adjustable cheek laminated stock very nice stock.
maybe a Savage dealer could get you one or try contacting Savage directly

StarShooter had one available not so far ago, give him a call on mail. Nice laminate, full adjustable.....for not even 700.00 I think

Xlr Industries makes chassis's that look good and on the cheap for the most part

I have one. Great chassis, and great service too from Kyle at XLR. Mine is for a Savage two screw 4.40" spacing. XLR lists all of their inlets on their website. I would not say they are cheap though, you will spend around $850 +/- depending on your options etc. Great product and quality manufacturing.

Thanks for all of the responses, I should be able to find something with these leads ( once I can afford one)

Try John Grech at Grech Outdoor in Mount Forest. He might have a Savage take off stock in his shop. He is the Savage warranty centre for Canada. I think Choate also makes and inexpensive and quality stock that might suit your needs.
