Hey guys,
I've got my rifle at Corlanes getting a Wildcat Stock installed. So far I have tossed around so many ideas for colours, metal finishes, etc and cant come to a conclusion on exactly what I want. The rifle is a Rem 700 Mountain Rifle Stainless 30-06 and will be topped with Matte Talley's and a silver Leupold Scope. Right now I'm kinda decided on a Black stock with dark grey webbing, but have tossed aroudn the idea of olive, tan, and solid black. Any suggestions that might get me thinking of whats gonna look really slick on this rifle????

I really like tan with black webbing......just curious if I'll have to go to a matte scope to make it look good or not.......

I know these are choices I really gotta make myself....lol....but its kinda fun to get some input....

Well boys.....at first I wanted olive....then changed my mind to black and thought I'd go neutral on it. After lots of talking, debating, looking at pics, etc, etc....I've decided to go BACK to olive with a black speckle/spiderweb overtop and we'll see how I like it. I was worried about the silver scope with stainless bbl/action but I think with the matte rings it will look good. Also decided to bead blast the rifle....should be a nice light gun by the time its all over. Left the bolt as is right now and will see how I like the balance and weight before I decide to flute it or not.....

I like tan/desert sand on a blued/blackened SS action/barrel.
Like this:

Doesn't quite work the same on the silver SS action/barrel/scope IMHO.

I'd go DARK DARK (almost black) charcoal grey, with lighter grey webbing

Martin,
I sold the .284 to a fellow CGN'er a little while back. Havent touched base with him in a while to see how things are going, but I'm sure things are great with such a nice rifle.
This new one of mine is a 30-06 Mtn Rifle and should be nice and light as well, and although I miss having the .284 in my collection, the '06 will do quite well and there will be room in my locker for another .284 or possibly a 6.5-284 one day....
