Hey Gang!
I hope your all having a great summer!!
I just finished 3 great weeks of vacation and stripped/sanded & refinished 2 stocks in that time.
One was from an old beat up $75 Lakefield/Mossberg Mark III and the other was a freebie Cooey 39 that a local retired cow farmer gave me (he used it to slaughter his cattle)
The Lakefield/Mossberg I stripped and applied 2 coats of tung oil on it and was very pleased with the end results. It's has a very matte appearance
Here is the end result:

The Cooey I stripped and applied 3 coats of polyurethane (sanded between coats) and was also very happy. It has a somewhat shiny appearance.

Now my scope question.
The Lakefield/Mossberg came with a small Weaver Scope, but I want to put a 4X32 on it. The rings that I have ( I thought they were a Weaver style??) don't fit the gun?
Can you guys/gals tell by the pic's what style rings I need to mount the scope on this gun and what type rings do I have on the 4X32 scope now. (sorry for the poor pic quality)
Much appreciated!!!

I'm sure the Lakefield/Mossberg Mark III will looks great (vintage) with the
little Weaver scope!

For mounting your 4X32 scope any 1 inch scope rings adapting to 3/8" rails
will be OK. I personally like Millett Angle-Loc scope rings cause they are
made of steel. The medium height ones should fit with the 32mm scope you
have...
