Thinking of getting one of these. There going for $392.94 NIB. I always wanted a compact little double-barrel shottie. Does anyone have/shot one?

It has a 20" barrel and 3' chamber available in IC or M fixed choke. I would use this little double-barrel for plinking/sporting clays and mabee even some slug/buckshot work at the range. I already have three pump-actions and one semi-auto.....I think its time for a classic little compact double-barrel scattergun.

What do you guys think about the Stoeger 12GA 20" brl Coach Gun???
If I grab it...should I get the Improved Cylinder or the Modified choke? I would use it for sporting clays up north so probaly the Modified choke would be best for tighter patterns. Would rifled slugs be OK in a Modified choke?

Thanks.

I like it but.....

I've been looking for a coach fo a while. The only thing I don't like about the stoger is the lack of ejectors and the barrels are about 1.5 inches too long;)

I couldn't care less if it's choked cause I only want it to pattern well from about 15 yards...I like that it has Internal hammers and double triggers.

The gun comes with BOTH IC/Mod... Mod in the second bbl.

The gun is well built but has a horrible trigger. It is definitely a fun gun but not really a clays gun as they take a lot of practice to swing them properly. Guns that short just don't balance right.
I have owned a couple of them, a 20 and a 410 I sold both, I wanted one for 10 years and finally got one, kept it for 10 weeks!

If I had to choose, I would buy a Baikal over a Stoeger. People who own them either love 'em or hate 'em. They work or they don't. I would say you have about a 50/50 chance of getting a good one, not good enough odds for me.

HOWDY; Got a pair of them . The older one ,26 inch barrels has lots of drop on the top of the stock for my fat cheek , choke tubes ,works good for trap . The coach gun 20 inch ,choke tubes ,newer high comb stock ,had to hack and sand the stock down . Both work well , and will "shuck " the hulls after a little polishing of the chambers . A bit of polishing and tunning and most cowboy action shooters find them good enough for matchs .
Yes I would buy one again.Good bang for the buck .
As to shorter barrels ,there is a 26 inch law total lenth to contend with . Never seen a factory lately put out shorter then 20 inch barrels for a double barrel
