I've noticed that the finish on the barrel and mostly the receiver marks up easy from brush etc. I've put one small mark clean to the metal somehow. What should I do to cover this up so it won't start to rust. I've been oiling the gun up after every outing to get the dirt and mud off all the metal which works well, but this scratch to the metal although small it appears 10 times bigger to me since its a new gun.

I don't think there is much you can do other than baby it... Some of the guys here have also noticed the camo peeling from the muzzle end...

I'm not a fan of the camo stuff, I just go matte synthetic...

A lot of reports on other forums of the same thing you are mentioning. (the baikal and the stoeger)

Cant expect much for the price, so I guess its a "get what you pay for" deal.

I should have mentioned its not a camo finish,it is matte black ( I remembered your advise from before Jay and still follow it, it was good advise), and I'd say this finish does comes off easier than some others i've seen but have seen the same on $1500 benelli's,berreta's,etc. I guess the question is can you touch up matte finish like you do when you re-blue something.

Geez, if it's a matte gun, then what the heck did they use to put the finish on it??? Can you post pics Gastch?
