Stoeger 2000

Hello all, I have a stoeger 2000 with a smooth bore slug barrel and am looking for any info on a slug match that may be a good fit. Ive tried a few load and can't seem to get it to group very well. The best I have is a 6" group at 50 yards I'm pretty sure thats not great! Anyone with a better match could u pass it on.

If your shooting a smooth bore shoot a rifled slug, not a sabot slug. Which type looks closest to what your shooting?

I shoot off a bench to sight in. And I have shot Winchester, Remington, Breneke, and Rotweil blitz, all are rifled slugs. The best ones I shot were the Rotwiel blitz. I believe they are made by breneke? Haven't tried any federal slugs yet. What brands do you guys suggest trying.

Try the 1oz Federal truBall slugs in 2.75". I also have a Stoeger and these group the best from my gun using a modified choke.

Great i will try federals next. How far do you sight your gun in for and like mine is your open sights.

Back when I had my Stoeger 2000 I had good success with Challenger slugs. I was using an IC choke at the time.
