I have a 14yr old nephew that started trapshooting and has put 2000 rounds through my Urika. Looking to get him a O\U. The Stoeger looks pretty good. I know there are a million choices out there, but I don't want to spend a pile because who knows if he will stick with it. My only concern is the function and durability. Any help is appreciated.

Are you opposed to used? A used SKB/browning/beretta/red label/ etc could be had with fixed chokes for a reasonable price. The CZ/Huglu shotguns are often well received for the price but they may not hold up to the rigors of trapshooting.

I went to see a potential client today. A disaster! He took the lowest bid. He got what he paid or so he tought. He did not get what he was hopping for and now he will have to pay much more to rectify the situation. It is the same thing with shotguns! Buy one of the top, even used. It will function well and at the end of the run, cost less! Beretta, Benelli, Browning, Winchester, you won't go wrong. Get a semi with 30 inch barrel or a O/U with 30 inch barrel from any of those makes. You won't go wrong, new or used!

I have a Stoeger that I bought in 2000. Its shot lots of shells with no issues. Its no Browning but it also costs way less. If you can afford it, buy a Browning, if not the Stoeger will work.
