I'm interested in the Stoeger Condor Outback, but was wondering about its non-selective trigger:
http://www.stoegerindustries.com/firearms/stoeger_condor_outback.php

In this model, the bottom barrel fires first, then the recoil (inertia trigger) allows the top barrel to be engaged.

I'm thinking of using it with an IC choke and slug in the top barrel (so that the impact would be closed to point of aim), and a Modified choke and shot in the bottom barrel.

Is there a way to fire from the top barrel, such as to fire the slug for long range shots, without having to fire the bottom barrel first?

If the bottom barrel is left empty, is it possible to fire the top barrel only (as a single-shot gun)?

Can this shotgun be modified to have a selective trigger (allowing the choice of top or bottom barrel to fire first)?

if the bottom barrel was left empty you could load the top barrel close the action and pull the trigger to fire the bottom barrel. then pointing the gun in a safe direction smack the butt plate with your hand to set the trgger on the top barrel .not a very satisfactory solution sorry but thats the way i see it .if you are looking for a short barrel double i see epps has a zolli apache for sale . i own one . 20 inch over under selective trigger and ejectors. i like mine.

Farmer47,
Thanks for the tip. That should work. I can always use a snap cap in the bottom barrel as well, to avoid the possible damage which could occur from firing an empty chamber.

The Zoli Apache sounds interesting. I tried finding it on the net, but without much success. Do you know where I can find specifications and pictures?
Does it use screw-in chokes, and if so, what type?

bought mine at a gun show idont think they are manufactured anymore . they are an italian made gun .action opens with a lever under the gun much like a winchester lever action .my gun has fixed chokes but the gun at epps has screw in chokes the selector isin front of the trigger guard . mine has factory sling swivels coin finished receiver with a wagon train scene large trigger guard opening so you can shoot with gloves on .also like the fact that it doesnt require recoil to operate the trigger . if you get a misfire with a bad shell u can still fire the second barrel.try google for angello zolli.
