Stoeger m3500 vs winchester sx3

Hey guys Iam looking at purchasing a 3.5 inch semi 12 gauge for duck and goose hunting, just wondering if anyone has experience with the Winchester sx3 and stoeger m3500 and what their opinions of the two have been. Thanks,

These two guns are not even in the same class... An Sx3 is compared to a browning silver or Rem versamax. You can not even group them together.

If you're looking at both go with an SX3. I have a 3 1/2" and it has never missed a beat!

Exactly for us old guys it is like comparing a corvette to a chevette both guns are semi 12ga and that is where is stops. Never an issue with my X3
 
I was in the same position a month ago. The 3500 is a decent gun for the money but I hate having buyers remorse and wishing I had spent a bit more $$ for a better gun and I was very close to going with the SX3. Haven't heard a bad word about it.

Ended up going Beretta but that is a different story.

X2 I went beretta and never looked back haha!

The m3500 held pretty nice when I checked them out. The sx3 wasn't for me.. But that's a personal thing!!

I might be mistaken but I thought Winchester had "cheaped out" on the new sx3 ? No dura coat and stuff like that ? ( for this years model that is )
 
I have a Duracoated Winchester SXP and while it has seen plenty of use Dura is not something I would use to describe it, it seems to flake of in little tiny pieces where ever there is rubbing, ie sling studs. So I would imagine any other finish should stand up just as well.
The SX3 is a very fine firearm and I have a friend who has one in 20 gauge that keeps asking to go home with me but he won't sell it for less then double the price of new. I suspect this means he's become attached to it, either that or he's been on the EE.
 
I have an SX3 in wood I use mainly for Skeet - Flawless. Kicks shells harder and farther than any other auto loader. Soft all day shooting. Got mine on sale for $950 at Wholesale Sports and it performs just as well as my friend's Beretta A400 Kick off for half the price.

 
I've had a Stoger Semi (3" mag) for quite a while. It eats every kind of shell I put into it it handles great, it soaks up a lot of recoil it didn't cost a fortune, and unlike my buddy with a Beretta........ I don't cry when it falls over in the blind or gets clunked on the side of the boat . So if you would rather spend your time shooting birds than babying your gun and telling everyone how much you spent on it to feel like Mr. Big, Buy the Stoger!

I have M2000 & brother-in-law has SX3 he paid $1000+ we've only put about 50 shells through her - runs fast!!!, skinny stock (more then I'm used to & takes some getting used to) fairly light, easy to handle & aquire target (I'll give more feedback after this weekend at the range) Then I own a Stoger M2000 (first model) and love, love, love it!!! Never an issue, runs everything, the perfect bush boomstick, good with clays and what a price picked it up for $550+ on sale at bass pro, came with 2 barrells (28" & 24") 5 chokes and 2 butt stocks (standard & sureshot) I'll stick with M2000 --- bang for the buck is probably best of any firearm I own.
FYI - M3500 is NRA's 2012 shotgun of the year!!

Hey guys thanks for all the input I had a look at both of them today at the local shop and I just kept coming back to the sx3. I really liked the narrow stock and it just seemed to come up nice. The m3500 looks like a good gun also just didn't seem to "fit" me as we'll. I purchased the sx3 and can't wait to give it a break in and get it in the bush this spring for some turkey before duck/goose season arrives. Thanks again,
