Stoeger M3K reviews....any good??

Considering an M3K can anyone provide some feedback, do they cycle light loads reliably? I generally run Challenger 1oz 1400fps and 1 1/8oz 1200fps that cycle reliably in a Rem 1187. Any other input would be greatly appreciated.
 
I've ran one for a year now in 3Gun and mine runs reliability with federal 11/8th oz 1200fps top gun target loads. For whatever reason, I'll have the odd short stroke with prairie score with the same load specs. Concensus is not to run anything below 11/8oz 3 dram or 1200fps loads for this inertia operated shotgun. The other nice thing about the M3k are the features targeted towards competition. I opened and polished the loading port a little more than it already is and really like how it quad/deuce loads. For the price and features it's hard to beat for an entry level 3Gun shotty.
 
A friend has one and it will occasionally not go into battery. She says there's some sort of known bolt issue that Stoeger will send out a new bolt to rectify.

Wishes she had bought a Versamax.
 
I have had zero issues with mine with any ammo I've ran. I haven't had to do anything either to make it run like this. It just works.
 
I'm loving mine so far. No issue running winchester light 7 1/2's or light recoil slugs, Also no issues with standard hunting slugs or heavy bird loads. I wish there were more events left for the year to keep using it.

Polishing/sanding the mag tube where the recoil spring guide rides on is a good idea, mine came with a fair bit of chatter. Replacing the extractor with the Benelli part(straight swap from the... Super Nova? Got it from Reliable.) is a good idea if you're going to run it fast in 3gun. I bought the 3500 for the extra shell, so I replaced the stiff hammer spring with the lighter Taran Tactical Benelli spring (through TacOrd).
Something to give thought to is breaking the "sharp" corners on the recoil pad to make it easier to mount without catching your clothes.
The safety is quite stiff. Taran Tactical Benelli part again, or cut two coils off the the safety detent spring.
 
Stoeger recommends running a few boxes of heavier loads through it to break it in. I replaced my recoil pad with a LimbSaver - made a huge difference. I bought the recommended Benelli replacement parts but haven't swapped them out yet. My M3K ran pretty well at today's CDTSA match - wish I could say the same for myself. :)
 
Well I just pulled the trigger on an M3K for $700+tx, couldn't resist anymore, lol. There was still 10 more available. Can't wait!! PM me if your interested in the same deal.
