i just recently bought this model of shotgun new and just got to use it this past weekend and i noticed after every shot the slide would come back.

it seems that the action is not staying locked in place after being fired , i have slammed the slide forward as hard as a i can and it still doesn't seem to stay locked.

Does the slide come back with force or does it open with the recoil action transfered though your forearm hand? Will the slide open and come back if you fire it with one hand with no contact with the forearm. I am just trying to determine if it is you or the gun. Winchester speed feed seems to open upon firing and they market it as a special feature. It is hard to tell without seeing the gun so if you are not sure, take it to a smith to be safe.

well after dickering around with it i took up to the gun shop and i guess this is the way the gun is designed , that once fired the action will open and also told that the slide will come all the way back if i don't hold , so its sorta like the winchester speed pump you are describing

I think it is probably designed to work like the speed pump, BUT I do not think that the pump should come all the way back if you do not hold. It should only come back with the recoil action against you pump hand. If it flys open without your hand moving it, go to a smith and have it checked out.

I bought one, used it one season and there was issues cycling the action. Also, the fore stock cracked and other problems. Sent it for repair to Ontario repair center and that is where most of my problems arose. Check out the Stoeger thread in the handgun forum.
