I was looking around on the net today and saw these 2 guns. They look slightly similar in outward appearance. I like the look of the Nova so the P250 also caught my eye. Which one would you go for and why? I've already got the 870 express so I don't want people telling me to pass on these 2 and go fro the 870. Thanks.

Benelli and Stoeger belong to the Beretta group.

The Benelli Nova is the real thing that is made in Italy.

The P-250 is a made in Turkey copy/clone/imitation of the Nova. Over the long term I don't expect it to be as durable and reliable as the Nova.

Tozman,

When Bigredd reads your comment you will get a load of ###x:D :D :D :D

I'm surprised he has not replied yet:confused:

But it shouldn't be too long.

All kidding aside:

I bought the Nova before the P-350 came out and I am quite happy with it.

I checked out the P-350 afterwards and found that it was not as well-made as my Nova. Having said that, I might buy one with a deer barrel if Baikal delays shipment of their deer barrels for the MP-153 next year.

If you have the budget for it, get yourself the real thing, you won't regret it. What's more, Limbsaver has just come out with a new pop-in recol pad to replace the hockey puck that they put at the end of the stock (in the meantime I use a Pachmayr slip-on which works great and is a good deal at $11.56).

The big downside of the Nova is that parts are sometimes hard to get and rather on the expensive side (ex. recoil reducer or deer barrel) compared to te 870.

Good luck with your shopping,

BT

Are there any aftermarket goodies for the Nova like there are for the 870? Things like shorter barrels, folding stocks, side carriers, etc...

Very few goodies.

Like I mentioned in my previous post, those that exist are sonetimes hard to get.

If you're talking about goodies to make the Nova tactical, they do have a tactical version available at LeBaron's for $505 (less than the regular Nova). It is listed on the same page for which I provided the link in my previous post.

It is the bottom one on the following page from the BenelliUSA website:

http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/defense.tpl

You have a choice of ghost-ring or open sights. The LeBaron website does not say which model they hold in stock.

I've seen the Nova Tactical, in fact there is one for sale in the ee forums. I was wondering about aftermarket goodies though, not just a tactical gun that can be bought in stock form.

Yeah your brilliant.... I am gonna call you "DUH" for short.
So DUH why don't you elaborate on all the Stoeger Shotguns you have owned and fired and tell us what exactly is wrong with them...:p
I think you are a poser with an uninformed opinion only... no practicle knowledge.

The Stoegers are a good example of inexpensive shotguns with some of the features of the more expensive Benelli's.
The main difference between the Nova and the P-350 is the Benelli has a Synthetic Reciever and offers the advanced takedown feature on the forestock.
They will both function flawlessly in the field and the Benelli's Quality does not overshadow the Stoegers Value... just a personal choice.:)

Go with the Nova, it's a great gun, I have NO problems with mine...

Cheers
Jay
Here's a couple pics of it this fall...

I bought a stoerger p350 for my son and think its a great shotgun for the money. It works great.I use a 870 rem and also a BPS.Both only 3''.I would say the 350 functions as well as either one of these.
As for a NOVA i dont know because I have never used one.I do however like the way it feels. If I find a good used one I prob will buy it.If I dont find a use NOVA before the hunt I will be getting a P350.
And from what I have seen itir_du12 the Stoeger 2000s work flawlessly. Two fellas I hunt ducks with sport theses guns and have yet to curse them.

Ive used the Benelli Nova w/slug barrel for 3 years now for deer. Its gets soaked, dirty, and a little muddy but it never has let me down. I dont know how much at LeBarons but its $750 at Al Simmons
