I have retired my old side-by-side and need to replace it. I have searched the net for an affordable side-by-side in 12 ga. I will be using it for game birds, water fowl and recreational skeet shooting.
I was surprised to find that I can buy a new Stoeger Uplander for under $500 and I was wondering if they are any good and if anyone will recommend buying them.
Will I be able to do better by spending my $500 on a used side-by-side and where will I be able to find one in Calgary? I have applied for access to EE, but it has been a few days and I still cannot access it.
Any comments will be appreciated.

my buddy has a stoeger condour ou. Gun fits and shoots like a dream. only drawback is it has an automatic safety that has to be kicked off everytime

Actually it doesn't have an auto safety.....my gun was the same when I took it out of the box and it shouldn't be that way! Tell your buddy to take the butt stock off and lube the whole action "everything" with Rem-oil or equivalent and work the action open and pull the trigger a few times to test prior to putting the stock back on. OBVIOUSLY MAKE SURE NOT LOADED. It will go Bang - Bang with no safety tampering. Mine works like it is supposed to now :D.

I currently own 2 Stoegers and had 2 others and all worked as they were supposed to.

I've owned 2 stocks cracked didn't like either
Buy a New Baikal from Baikal Canada Google them excelent for the Money fit and finish is better than the stogers

Got my Uplander 20ga used for 300$ in excellent condition. Perfect grouse gun. 24" barrels, removeable chokes, straight grip. Couldnt be happier for the money.
