Hey guys, just wanted to know your opinions on the stoeger condor/condor supreme/condor competition, and the stoeger longfowler. How reliable are they, are there any major problems, how do they perform, etc. Thanks in advance

Mine have all been perfectly reliable for hunting and tons of rounds of clays, no mis fires no breakages and all three were a joy to shoot, a best kept secret in a budget o/u

Not from my experience, perhaps you got a good one. As a field gun they are fine, the competition model is the more durable of the lot, but not a overly durable clays gun. As a field gun, they are fine, I won't recommend one as a dedicated clay gun however as they won't hold up to many years of service. There are better choices for the money in my opinion.

Less than 600 rounds through my competition and the stock cracked. Replaced under warranty. 24 rounds through the replacement before it blew into shards. Warrantied again. Sold it when I got it back and bought a Berretta.

I have seen many of them with stocks that crack, Its due to poor fitting of stock to metal. They are disappointing in so many ways, broken firing pins , selector switches no working right, hard to close with certain kinds of shells. I know some people get their back up when you criticize their gun so by all means shoot what you like . But I have seen no condors that were worth owning. When I bought my first O/U money was tight, "kids ,mortgages, student loans" I saved up and bought a used Citori, for 2 grand. Shot it for six years, 30,000 rounds with out a single problem. when I decided to up grade, I got 1800 for it. "To each their own"

The salesman at one of my local stores talked me out of the condor o/u. He told me they break where the barrel latch connects to the fore end a lot. I'm not sure if what he was saying was true or not. He could have been trying to sell me a more expensive one, but I ended up not purchasing anything in the end. I went to another store and bought a CZ. Consider the CZ mallard or redheard o/u's. They are reasonably priced compared to other o/u's and they are very nice quality. It has been a reliable clay gun and I have no had any issues with mine. So far it has had 100's of rounds through it.

I had a condor a long time ago. After a few month of clay shooting the renter rib came loose from the receiver to about 5 inches forward. They replaced it and I sold it shortly after. Then I bought a CZ Canvasback and shot thousands of rounds through it. Never had a problem.
