I have 2 Stoeger 2000s and a Benelli Cordoba. Love them all. All shoot everything I put into them. Sure the Benelli is a class above the Stoeger but it was also 3X the price. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Stoeger 2000 to anyone. I bought the combo sets so I have the deer barrel (only comes smooth bore) as well.
If you are going to shoot a lot of heavy loads, look at getting the pre-fit Simms Limbsaver recoil pad for it. If you are just shooting trap and the occasional slug don't bother with it. Makes a BIG difference with the heavy loads.
