Northumberland OPP are on the hunt for an antique rifle they believe stolen from a McBride Road cottage in March.
On March 12, Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint of a break-in to the property in the week prior. Missing were the Enfield 303 rifle (s/n 43257), Issued in 1932 to an elite shooting team, a leather ammunition case (24” x 12” x 12”), a large quantity of 303 ammunition, and an ammunition belt and magazines.
Investigators are asking the public for their assistance in identifying those person(s) responsible for this crime. Anyone with information is asked to call Northumberland OPP at 905-372-5421 or toll free 1-888-310-1122.
Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call the Peterborough/Northumberland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) where you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000 and not have to appear in court.
