I recently returned from a 13 day stone sheep hunt...got dropped off up the Muskwa River in Northern BC by Riverjet Adventures Mr. Kevin Willis..my hunting partner and I hunted an area neither of us had hunted before.
We saw tons of elk, a couple of wolves, lots of big goats, a couple of grizzly bears, and lots of stone sheep..
On August 4th we harvested a stone sheep..my first stone sheep Scott had harvested one last year in a different area but used the same transporter company for access.
Our stone sheep was a beautiful ram witha deep chocolat brown cape with the traditional salt and pepper color to the face..
The ram is 9 years old and both horns came up past the bridge of the nose..
the meaurements were 39" x 39" 15"(bases)...should end up being 168-172 points...the ram had tremendous bases that kept the mass and weight well into the third quarter..and also retained the lamb tips..a truly beautiful ram.
I hope to have the photos up soon...and will post em here also..
cheers
Steven
