stone sheep hunt 2009

I want to thank BOTH these guys Scott..for everything and the ram for hanging on and waiting the 9 years for me..

Steven

Once again congratulations my friend!!

It should also be noted that this sheep was killed using a rifle chambered in the plain vanilla .270 Winchester. The bullet was a cup & core Hornady 140 grain boat-tail launched at ~2900 fps.

LOL yes this tremendous specimen was indeed harvested with a single shot from a Browning Stainless steel stalker in .270. The shot was from 318 yards at a quartering away angle...and the sheep literally dissapeared from site ..dropped like a rock..

My great friend Mr Gary Deane once again did me another favour and handloaded 100 rounds of Hornady 140 grain BTSP giving 2900fps...and exceptional accuracy in my rifle.

Thank you BOO I appreciate your friendship and your reloading skills..

The bullet entered the ram just above the heart and went into the front right leg/shoulder , it did not exit. However the front right shoulder was completely blood shot and unedible.

Thanks again Cariboo..I Finally will have the $$$$ to replace my complete reloading outfit this Sept.

Thank you for the positive feedback on a beautiful ram.

Steven

Awesome hunt!

Ever since I was a kid I wanted to go hunting for sheep. My uncle did the grand slam in the 80's and I always wanted to hunt them... Sadly my wallet doesn't match my expectations :(

Thanks for sharing.

Great ram Steven, way to go.

For God's sakes, cheer up for next years pictures......you'd think a ram like that would bring a smile to a guy's face..........lol

Love it. Congrats.

Way to go srupp. It's great to get an animal like that, even better when you have friends to help enjoy the adventure.

That is one incredible ram! I bet you have cramps in your face after that day.

Congrats!
