Stop living about round count

How the heck does a newbie with few posts and FB 0 know so much. Being a post whore means nothing, but being on the site for a long time with lots of FB has clout.

So based on what EE experience is the OP referencing.

PS. Someone with 7 mags would be disconcerting; even in a drunken stupor wouldn't you stop at maybe 2 or 3. Not sure I'd trust someone like that.

I have just over 40 Mags for my AR, and I have shot exactly 120 Rounds though it. Then again I have no plans on selling it at all.

Got all the mags as part of a large order and I screwed up the order and ended up with extra mags. Good thing they never go bad

As a medical professional, I would be negligent and derelict in my duties to not inform you that there is in medication for that condition......

oh! got it.

best cure would be to hide every writting devices in the house.

it's kind of a second nature ; i open the log book, glance at the ammo left in the case ,then writes the number of rounds shot in the afternoon lol. that way i can tell exactly how many rounds a given gun has shot.

i noticed that getting an exact round count helps selling fast lol.

I have a Ruger SR9 with 7 mags and only 50 rounds through it. Why 7 mags? Well it came with 2 and I bought 5 more with it. I came close to posting it for sale a few times because I hate the gun and think it is a massive piece of cheaply made ####....but then everyone on here tells me how awesome of a gun it is so I keep meaning to take it for another range session to give it another chance. But when it comes time to go, I grab guns I like to shoot instead of it so it sits there with 50 rounds (1 box of ammo) through it and 7 mags collecting dust.
I'll bet in 10 years its still there with 50 rounds through it.....lol

You know there is a possibility the round count could be low and truthful but excuse me for questioning it when there are so many similar stories. To some the count doesn't matter but that's not the point for me. If someone will lie about the round count what else will they lie about and secondly I don't want to reward dishonesty by paying for it. Perhaps I just didn't realize there were so many people out there with money to burn. I'm guilty of analyzing my purchases to death before plunging.

when i buy a gun, i'm looking at the external aspect of the gun (pistols) . i perfectly know that if the seller tells me he don't know the total round count because he's the second or third owner, probably some springs will need replacement which is no big deal. i'm mainly looking at scratch ,dings ....things i don't like to see on my gun. that's about it.

in case of rifles,it's another story.

if it's an overbore caliber i'm after ( like 270wsm,300wsm etcetc ) , i know these calibers are barrel burners, then maybe in need to be swapped out for another one ; if i have some suspicions i'm making an offer according to my feel about the gun i'm seeking. seller is free to accept or not,i rely on my gut feeling .

Majority of new shooters will buy a used gun to save 100 bucks over a new one. For a guy that shoots a lot that 100 bucks is just ammo for few hours (could be less that 30 minutes caliber depending).
I just keep repeating, shooting is very expensive when you start shooting and very cheap when you just buy guns. I go myself thru more ammo than most stores can deliver and i had sold one too many guns that i never ever clean the factory grease off. But again I'm a shooter not a collector and if you really don't trust anybody around just pay retail and get brand new. Will be the cheaper part of your range trips for sure. BTW i know lots of new guys that after the 3 months fever when the bills start to pile up they pause shooting. Hunting is very cheap one gun few boxes of ammo if that and you good to go. Please ask around what people take to the range for one trip.......

what....you dont like my fortune cookie counter??:D howver i must Watch the dog to not loose the count lolll...i could ignore the risks, low round count pistols are easier to sell as you know ....LOL

I guess I fall under the 2-300 round guys, mods and extra mags with good intentions. Just never get out to shoot enough before I see another gun I want to try. So little time so many guns! I did guy a M&P core with 1200 rounds through it, could have been 100 rounds by the condition of it. I'm more interested in the way it was looked after rather than round count.
