Stop the RCMP!

This is what will continue to transpire moving forward and we can all thank the Liberals and the voters who entrusted a police force to make laws as they see fit.

Ok. Murray Smith:

How many people have died and been injured by the use of the LAR-15 Mags?
How many crimes were comitted using these mags?
How many lives could have been sparred if a person was forced into using a 5 round mag to commit a crime?

This is a rapid errosion of our freedom. The bureaucrats who appiont themselves to the highest ranks of the RCMP are ensuring that we are a disarrmed country.
This is no longer a "tinfoil hat" topic. We are being systematically demonized by Ottawa and sociopaths who enjoy armed protection but demand we be disarmed.

+1,

5 rounds mag or 10 - 30 - 99 wont kill anyone especially in a restricted firearm used exclusively in a shooting range. :)

Lets us breathe while enjoying our hobby/sport/passion.

Less reloading = more shooting = more money into your dirty pockets.

Go spend your time undercover in the streets to catch illegal guns.. instead of trying to discouraging law-abiding gun owners. You guys arent saving anyone LIVES.

Stop threating us like criminals and go after the real ones.

You are aware that a lot of laws are based on emotions, and are completely unsupported by science, right? This true in many aspects of our lives touched by laws and regulations made in ottawa and the 10 provinces, not just about firearms.

As for the insanity of magazines regulations, which has reached its pinnacle with the 10/22 fiasco imho, it's still just the tip of the iceberg. Many laws and regulations are a lot more far fetched, we've just become so used to them that we don't notice them anymore, but anyone new to the firearms hobby automatically wonders why:
1-AR15 are restricted based on their look;
2-32acp and 25acp are prohibited based on someone's feeling in 1992 (that's just my best guess, nobody seems to really know wtf these guns are banned);
3-Ammos for 32acp and 25acp can still be sold;
4-Smith & Wessons's M&P15-22 (a rimfire rifle which shares 0 part with an AR-15) is restricted based on sharing a name and a look with the M&P15, which is restricted due to its look (it's an AR15);
5-The 10/22 charger is considered a pistol because Ruger calls it a pistol, although it has no characteristics of a pistol, but has every one of a rifle;
6-I'm not sure I want to keep going on.

A lot of these laws are based on the fear caused by mass shootings in another country.

Well said!

The RCMP drank the Alan Rock Kool-Aid long ago , and is now the largest anti firearm lobby in Canada ; and paid for by our own taxpayer dollars.....they will never be happy until all private firearm ownership in Canada is totally eliminated !

This is only because we've let them slowly strip away our rights over time, always done without warning and in a backdoor kind of way. They'll eventually get all removable magazines, they'll do it in baby steps. Stand up make your calls and emails...fill the fax machines.

The RCMP can't even change laws that are too lenient on ### offenders and people doing the heinous the crimes, but somehow they are able to just write a bulletin making the property of law abiding citizens illegal. Now possibly making them criminals for owning these items. Items they've owned for many years! I'm just seeing this now what if I had mine out, and was inspected? Would I now be relieved of all my firearms?

Wake up people fight for your rights, LAR15 and Beowulf mags are next, then they'll come for the 5 rounders

You guys are dreaming. Even in some states where guns are a LOT more accepted than here have magazine restrictions. I have more chances of winning the lottery without buying a ticket than you guys have of changing the laws to allow unlimited magazines.

As a realistic person, I'd settle for laws based on science and reason, such as magazine capacities based on volume, not "amount of rounds the firearms it was originally designed for it can contain", classification based on physical characteristics instead of look, name and color of the firearm, and so on... But dreaming about removing all mag capacity regulation is just a dream.

Any update to firearm legislation and regulation will be toward restricting more and prohibiting more. If you want to make a move now, it would be to get handguns of all shape and size, cause the next update to firearm laws might very well be to move a lot of guns from restricted to prohibited status, create more 12x categories, and only those who previously owned those firearms will get those new statuses.

OK, so you've given up. Got it.

How very Canadian of you...

Please forgive me in my ignorance of the facts. Why is the RCMP or the firearms center have anything to do with anything regarding this issue. I thought we as gun owners have to follow the laws that are in the firearms act, have anything been changed or will be changed in the act regarding magazines?. If not then what right does the RCMP have to tell us anything if its contrary to the firearms act, they enforce the laws not write them right?.

You're correct, the law hasn't changed... just the RCMP and CFP's interpretation of it. With no responsible or reasonable government in power to tell them otherwise, they can conveniently interpret the laws any way they see fit now. There is more of this come, you can be certain of that.

Criminals will not leave those pins in at 5 rounds this makes RCMP look so dumb!!!

Yup, unfortunately at some point, some unstable, unlicensed criminal with a illegal gun smuggled in from the US will kill some people here. The cops will find that he simply removed the pin because, crazy as it sounds, psychopaths on murder sprees tend to not care about the consequences of having a prohibited mag, and the only response from the police and government will be to crack down on legal gun owners, pass more laws taking away more of our rights and property. They will do nothing to crack down on the illegal guns or the nut-jobs using them for murders, rapes and robberies.

And as for the shooter, (if he doesn't kill himself or become a trophy-scalp for a trigger-happy cop), he'll get all kinds of sympathy, along with some lemonade and cookies, because he's a poor unfortunate soul abused his parents and mistreated by the system. He'll do 6 months in a rubber-walled hospital and then get all kinds of money thrown at him from various Liberal social programs. He'll end up in a 4-bedroom house with a $50,000 car, spending his days eating cheeseburgers, playing Lottomax and watching Netflix.

/end rant

That about sums it it up, every time there is a murder mass murder whether here or in the US. The Canadian media and the government start talking about adding more restrictions on the most law abiding group in our society. I walk on egg shells to make sure I don't break any laws, almost have to be a lawyer, just so I can enjoy this sport.
