Storage of powder and primers

Just got back into reloading after 20 or so years and can see from the sticky that powder and primers are to be stored separately in " a locked substantial magazine " and marked with the word "explosive".
I always used to just keep them on a shelf away from any hazards.
Just wondering what others use as a locked substantial magazine for their storage purposes.
 
There was a sticky awhile ago IIRC. does anyone know a link to NRCan for their storage req'ts? I looked about a week ago and sould only find amounts but nothing indicating what the storage box is to be made out of. When I buit mine a week ago I remember 3/4" plywood with brass fixings as stated above.
 
I built two 3/4" wood boxes. Glued them together and used brass screws also. Used brass locking hardware and some stickers to mark them as explosive. Cost was minimal and tool about an hour and a half total.
 
I used an old 3/4'' wood work tool box. Removed the fastening screws and then drilled the screw holes out larger and deeper. I used a hot glue gun and injected glue into all the former screw holes. The regulations mentioned the receptacle had to be meticulously clean so I painted the box with white primer. At Lowes, I picked up a brass hinge and locking hardware. I am also just getting back into shooting sports and reloading, for me it's at least fifteen years or so and like the thread poster I always simply stored my powder in a sensible location. I understand the new rules and don't have any issues.
My question now is this; After also researching this myself I read many comments about how many people were of the opinion that the powder receptacle should have at least one or a small number of holes, lets say, drilled in it. The thinking being that in case of ignition from an external fire, hot gases and pressure would be allowed to vent safely preventing some sort of detonation or explosion. I did not notice any reference to this point in the regulations. A vent hole or holes seems prudent given the preceding point. Also could these very same holes provide a means for the fire or sparks to enter the box and be the cause of powder ignition negating the effective protection of the wooden box? To drill vent holes or not to drill vent holes? I wonder if providing vent holes to a wooden powder receptacle that meets the regulations may somehow be a breech of the regulations causing the powder magazine to be basically no longer legal?

137.*In regard to any receptacle, the following provisions shall be observed:
(a)*it shall be provided with a closely fitting lid secured by a lock, and hinges and fastenings, preferably of copper or brass, and otherwise closed and secured so as to prevent unauthorized persons having access thereto, and shall be kept locked except when required to be open for receipt or removal of explosives, or other necessary purpose;
(b)*it shall be exclusively used for the keeping of explosives;
(c)*it shall be made of wood, copper or other suitable material;
(d)*the interior of the receptacle and all fittings therein shall be so constructed, covered or lined as to prevent the exposure of any iron or steel, or of any hard or gritty surface, or the entry, detaching, or accumulating of grit, iron, steel or similar substance;
(e)*the interior of the receptacle shall be kept scrupulously clean; and
(f)*the receptacle shall have the word “EXPLOSIVES” conspicuously displayed thereon on a contrasting background.

i built a big cabinet out of 3/4" plywood with multiple locking compartments but i didnt use brass hardware simply because i had it built before i ever read the regs
 
I use a shelf...start putting explosives in bigger containers together you get a bomb. If there on a shelf, less likely to have an IED go off, rather a fire that i can use the fire extinguisher to put out. So i suppose to answer that question, a wooden shelf i build lol
