yep, its not to prevent theft, just prevent easy access. restricted need to be locked in a locked box, ie trigger locked in a locked closet, but not in a safe.
45 days my ass. took just under 2 years for me, and ive NEVER had any problems with the law, or any other reason for my pal to be in question. i bought a small gun safe when i bought my first firearm, now i need a bigger one. i use my closet and dresser for none restricted's
If you keep your firearms in a locked room or closet, make sure the hinge bolts can't be removed.
