Stored in leather holster

Hello everyone,
Will storing my 45 Colt pistol in a leather holster causes any damage
to the bluing on the pistol?

Depends on how well you control the humidity of your safe and environment. I personally wouldn’t.
I used to store guns wrapped in plastic in new holsters to stretch them out but not a permanent thing.

Yes. I have had a number of handguns frosted by storing in leather.

Oil the Colt and place it in a plastic bag before leaving it in a leather holster, this is the method used to form leather holsters to the revolver.

I have notice that the some of the manufactures ship their pistol and accessories in a plastic bags.

I oil my pistol and revolvers and place them in plastic storage bags and store them in caring cases to protect them.

Its amazing how fast little pits of rust can show up, depending on humidity. Keeping in plastic bags, oiled up in the original cases is a good way to make sure

Oiled firearms, open air, low humidity.
