Stores in NB and NS

Heading off to the East coast for a month and was hoping people here know of some good gun and/or militaria shops in the area. Will be close to Amherst and will also spend some time in PEI.

Moncton is a short drive from Amherst and there are several stores there, including a Cabelas and a Bass Pro Shop.

I think you may want to go another 45 minutes to Moncton. Cabbalas, Bass Pro, and the Hunting and Fishing Store.

I'm in the Halifax area and there is nothing here worth making the trip from Amherst for. As mentioned, Bass Pro, Cabelas in Moncton. The Gun Dealer in Macadam is a good shop but almost to the Maine border.

Should you end up in HFX for some reason, the army navy store on Agricola st. has the best selection of Militaria

highway 102 surplus in Elmsdale if I remember from a trip there.

The army navy store in Halifax is very good.

You will be disappointed if you are looking for good gun shops in N.B. and especially Nova Scotia. At least compared to central and western Canada. The Gundealer in McAdam is the only good gun store in N.B. and a little off the beaten track. As is Blue Mountain Sports in Browns Flats, N.B. The milsurp store in HalifaX is okay for militaria, guns not so much.

Don't forget Green Diamond outfitters. It's a John Deere dealership in Moncton and there's one in Nova Scotia too. Better prices than Cabelas.

The big box stores like Cabelas and Basspro are way over rated in my opinion. There are some small gems out here, The Gun Dealer as mentioned and also Green Diamond in Moncton. Green Diamond is a John Deer dealer but they've got a hunting / gun shop on he second floor and I find they often have stock of some pretty rare items (in these parts at least).

Fredericton Gun Shop on Sunset drive is a great family owned gun shop. All prices are tax in. Lots of great stuff there. The Gun Dealer in McAdam is worth the drive if ya got time. The Cdn Tire on prospect st in Freddy is also worth a look too. I have not been to Blue Mountain for a few years.

Used to be a small milsurp place near the NS/NB border, maybe someone else can chime in if they know the name.
