I can confirm brits weighed their ammo. Don't know about cracking the bullets.
I recall buying a few cases of real good Norma ammo in England. It shot great. We left it there in the clubhouse to shoot the next year. But then it shot terrible.
Don't know what happened. For sure it was not heat.
