storing reloading ammo in larger quantites...

for homeload 12 gauge rounds (.690 roundballs and slugs) i usualy fill up one of those plastic 5gal buckets since the rounds are so big in size, during or just after winter so when i go to the range during summer i just toss the bucket in back of the truck and i got a good couple hundred rounds at my disposal.

I keep reloaded .223 in 5 gallon pails. I scoop an ice scream pail full when I go shooting. The pails stack 3 high with no problems of weight.

Dollar store sells a round plastic container about coffee mug size with a screw on top. This does not tend to pop off. i find this excellent for pistol ammo. I can easily take several different loads or calibers to the range.

Freezer bags are very good for larger amounts. I put them in ammo cans.

MTM boxes, if you buy one or 2 every time you go to the sporting goods store, youll find yourself with extras in a short time

I do this for most of my factory ammo even. Keeps it all together in batches. I pick up one or two boxes when I go shooting, as opposed to twelve.

That, and it gives me an excuse to go to the shops. And every time I'm in a decent shop, I'll buy something. If for no other reason than it sets me apart from a guy who just came in and finger-banged everything on the racks. Shows support for my local dealers. They can't stay in business if they don't make money, and they can't make money if product doesn't move.
