like the topic says, have any of you ordered storm lake barrels from questar?

Wondering how long you guys had to wait for them

I think they wait till they have a bunch to do at the same time to save (them) some money so it sort of depends but basically give yourself 3 months and be happy if it only takes 2

I believe the barrel goes to Questar and then on to you...but you can still order direct. Ask Q...I believe they originally put it out there...and when you build your barrel on SL's website there is an export fee of $49 if it's going to Canada.

either of you actually order them though? im patient, not really worried, but I do kinda need a new one lol

I just ordered one about 5 days ago...Called Questar today and they told me that once the order is placed with Storm Lake it could take up to two months...And that all depends on how many orders they have for that particular batch...
So I'm in the same boat, need to wait a few months for my 9mm conversion barrel for my M&P .40.

They are good barrels worth the wait and extra cost. I think the extra is now $79 for import service, shipping to Questar, tax and postage to you when it's here. I wouldn't want to do it all for $79. Mine took 2 months or so. Worth it.

I'll be ordering one of the Storm Lake .40 to 9 conversion barrels for my Pro in the new year (once the bills are paid).

I'm going to get the threaded extended barrel just because it looks cool.

Couldn't you just order it from Brownells? They sell Stormlake. And as long as Stormlake has export permits to come into Canada etc... Brownells should ship it up here no problem.

Well over the $100 limit so it will take longer, you have to pay Brownells the application fee that goes to the US government and a little something for themselves.

So it can be done through Brownells but it will take longer and cost more than you think.

I would also expect that Brownells does not carry the full line of Storm Lake, only the top sellers.

Edit: Actually all barrels, regardless of price are ITAR and need the export license so you pay Brownells and the US government.

well its about 2 months in, and I just got confirmation that it will be shipped to me in about a week, awesomeness! match grade barrels here I come!

thanks everyone for the info. and yeah, I tried through brownells as well no go. 79$ is a good deal to get it all in

If you think 2-3 months is a waiting period, you really don't ever want to order a BarSto, they sometimes run 10-12 months depending on what you want and never run less than 3 months. I've fired a Storm Lake M&P - very worthwhile addition.
