Hey guys just a quick question, I just received my Storm Lake 9mm conversion barrel that I ordered through Questar...When I opened it lo and behold there was a gorgeous barrel...Thing is there are no logo's on the barrel..No Storm Lake logo or no .9mm indicator either...Nada, nothing...I'm wondering if anyone else out there has encountered this, whether I should be concerned about it...I know it's a nine because I checked with some 9mm rounds in the chamber...Looks good...Also checked with some snap caps to see how it would function with the 9 mag and everything seemed ok...Thing is, should there be a logo and caliber indicator on the barrel??

Looks it bypassed their QA process again or they don't have one. Lots of problems with them lately. Should have the SL logo and calibre on it.

That's what I thought too...I've left a voice mail message for them to get back to me and and email...I don't think that they're going to respond...I'll have to wait before casting any judgement on Storm Lake or Questar as their agent...

Ok just got an email back from Storm Lake...They tell me that Questar requests no logo no markings on the conversion barrels that they order from Storm Lake...So why would Questar do that?? Not that it matters much but I do like the logo and I would have liked the 9mm stamped on the barrel. Otherwise everything seems ok...Going to the range to try out the new barrel today.

A few of us had issues with the SL barrels for the M&P compact. They were chambered in the wrong caliber compared to what they were stamped. 9mm vs .40 S&W.

The replacements just came in and they have no caliber stamp on them either. But they are chambered correctly now. But as jackrabbit000 said, they had some serious quality control issues.

Didn't realize it was Questar that requested they not be stamped. Personally I prefer the barrel is stamped, especially for something like a conversion barrel that you may be swapping in and out.

What firearm is the barrel for btw?

It's a .9mm conversion barrel for the M&P .40. And I had it out today and it worked flawlessly. I haven't cleaned the gun yet but I think everything is ok...And the gun shoots better than I do...I'm very rusty with the handguns..
I'd prefer the caliber etched in as well just because...But I love that pistol anyway in .40 or 9mm...So if you all order one from Questar and want logos just be sure to tell Questar that...

Just out of curiosity, how long did it take to get after you ordered? Was thinking of ordering a barrel for another gun, but with the recent experience with SL, just want to know how long I might have to wait.

I waited about 5 months for one of my Glock 35 barrels. Ive had two other orders with them that didnt take quite as long though. How long its going to take is going to depend on if they have it made already or if you have to wait for it to be manufactured. As far as the logos, One of mine had the logos and the other two just had the model numbers, I preferred them to have as little on them as possible, as the logos wear with use anyways, so it didnt both me either way. They perform as advertised and offered great reliability and accuracy for me, none of them were conversions though, so I cant comment on that.
