STOWAWAY Rifles 5.7 are in stock and ready to ship

Just got a delivery notice for mine at the post office, guess I'll be picking it up and checking it out on lunch break and hopefully shooting it tomorrow if I finish getting some rounds loaded this evening.

Let us know how it goes loading, I haven’t bought dies yet but plan too. I read people have to use a special case lube for proper extraction in the pistols, doubt that would matter in a single shot.

The cartridges come coated with a special lacquer to help with extraction, people try to avoid removing this when cleaning and resizing, but as you noted it shouldn't matter in a single shot bolt action, which is good because that lacquer is flaking off all the used brass I bought already because it was tumbled before being sold. It looks like hell when it starts flaking off but it's also not super easy to entirely remove either, perhaps if you have a rotary tumbler with stainless media it would get rid of that coating entirely?

Picking pepper from fly poop. A single shot 5.7 mm designed for whatever pistol/carbine/SMG is just gross
Sure, whatever this guy.

Got mine a few days ago, really nice little rig especially with a Leupold on it instead of Trijicon RMR.

Need another 9mm and short conversion kit please for 5.7mm and 9mm as well.

Never been more excited than some odd ball single shot rifle especially the tactical one with odd caliber, maybe just me after all.

Received mine earlier this week, waiting for an optic and ammo to arrive. Ordered some dies as well.

Seems like a quality little unit, excited to get it out.

Marstar, in the original thread the short barrels were discussed regarding the possibility of it being NR, will you guys be submitting one to see what it gets classed as?

Mine should be arriving next week. I have some factory ammo to start but will reload after that.

anyone actively loading for the 5.7? what (available) powders are you using? not too much published load data out there, apart from forum discussions.

I only just started reloading this cartridge because of this gun so I can't offer a whole lot of help or speak from any real world experience. You are correct that there is not a whole lot of published load data out there, I'm using some data that I found on the five seven forum though I am substituting a different 40gr bullet than what is listed. One of the members on that forum has a downloadable document with a fair bit of data from load testing he has done, be aware that this was not pressure tested though.

Longshot appears to be a favorite for the 5.7x28 cartridge from what I have read, also True Blue. Hodgdon has published load data for AA5, AA7, and True Blue if you have, or can get, any of those powders.

I intend to get out tomorrow and shoot my handloads, if it isn't raining I may chrono them while I do my sighting in to see what kind of velocities I'm seeing with the two different bullets and varying charge weights.
