I ran across these pictures they were taken last week just outside Drayton Valley! You guys never told me that you had Johnny Winter Moose out there in Grande Prairie.

Yes, and the same for the man eating world record grizzly from Alaska and the huge bull moose that I have received in e-mails and was apparently killed in Slave lake, Alberta, northern BC, Alaska, the MacKenzie Mtns. in the NWt and was actually killed a few years ago now in Siberia.

Gotta love the internet.

As far as white moose go..............there have been numerous sightings over the years and a couple killed, including a nice bull in the Vanderhoof area of BC.

Interesting... I cannot verify those pics... and that is the reason for my post. I wonder where they really came from. I saw very similar pics that came from Ontario....

Lots of those pics came from a few moose in the Foleyet Ont. area, there has been many photos taken with at least 2 white ones and one normal one at the same time, Lots of these pics are circulating on the net claiming they where taken in all kinds of different locations but I've seen the original pics and also my best friends father-in-law works for CN rail in Foleyet and he had to scrape one off of the track a few years back and now the head is mounted in the local restaurant, they aren't albino though but they definitely are white.

Yes................pink eyes. The bull taken up near Vanderhoof had pink eyes ................I am guessing that was 30 years ago, although others are seen up there from year to year.

I understood that the bull was mounted life size, but I have lost track of where it went for display.

Those are called "Wild Rabbit Moose". They are normal brown in the summer but after the first snow fall their fur changes to white for camo. They'll blend in better for that added protection.

There is a full body mount of one in a museum in I think Manning (Northern Alta) just heard of it never seen it, but I believe it was shot during the 40's or 50's.
