strange and colourful russian .22lr? *pictures*

I was at the cartridge collectors gun show yesterday at thorncliff community center. super crowded first thing, I got there at about 10:30. it was packed. in the smaller of the two halls, there was an old guy - how many of those do you find at gun shows - selling a strange type of ammunition from sorry not Russia, it says on the box, the USSR.

they came packaged in a waterproof wrap. two bricks of 500 rounds I bought, for a total of a thousand.

the gentleman who sold me this stuff told me the Russian Olympic team used the same stuff to beat the Americans the last time around.. has anyone else tried this particular species?

They should ship some cheap 22 to make up for the short supply here..

I bought 5 boxes of Vostok Junior today for $12. Check and make sure it isn't steel cases if you intend on shooting it. Can damage some firing pins. I have a Vosok CM-2 that I read somewhere this stuff shoots really well out of. If you go on the Russian rifle forum in Rimfire Central you can find info.
