Do we have to worry about tularemia in Canada? I have heard people say that you should wait till winter to eat rabbits because the infected ones die in the cold. But they could mean Texas winter or something.

my old man and i used to snare rabbits and i could never get used to the smell. just reading comments it's almost like i can smell it again..lol nasty things but taste so good

The downside is that the kids caught her eyeing their pet lop ear rabbit. We gave him to another family soon thereafter, and got a dog instead.

rabbits are stanky critters whether you shoot, snare, or whack them over the head. i just butchered 8 domestic rabbits yesterday and they smell just as bad as wild.

20+ pounds of very healthy (better than chicken) white meat for around $12. not bad...

grouse stink real bad, even if no internal organ are touch. But, if clean shot you dont have to touch any internal and you can remove most meat by pulling the leg while having your feet on its wing (you will have the equivalent "cut" of a store bought chicken (with no wing,spine,head).
