So anyway, my wife and I were sitting around talking last night (about guns) and she was started to get fed up with all the talk so we moved on to the next topic, camping. She loves camping, loves fishing, but hates the thought of bears walking around in the area. So, last night she came to the conclusion that I MUST buy a new gun.
. I honestly had no intention of the conversation leading this way, but it happened. So I quickly jumped on the opportunity as I figure this is a rare occurence in most households. Anyway, long story short I was planning on saving some money up over the next few months to put a scope on my new .25-06 which I bought last week and she said forget about the scope, i will get you one for christmas, start saving for a new gun!
I thought this was worth sharing.
Anyway, more to the point of the post. I started a thread a while back which is still going about what to use as a bush gun, which has had lots of responses. I was thinking I could double up this gun as my deer\moose\bear bush gun, as well as my camping "defense" gun. I think for these purposes I want to go with a big bore, something like 45-70. Anyone think of another option that would fit this use? Also, if you are thinking about parting with a rifle like this in the next few months let me know so that I can contact you when I have the cash.
