Those are now made in Austria by Rossler as the Rossler Titan 16. Of you’re going on a tangent about euro straight pulls other than Blaser, Strasser, Merkel and Chapuis don’t forget the Steel Action and the Heym SR30 from Germany, or the Lynx from Finland. There are plenty of options out there....

There is something about euro rifles, nice wood, deep blueing, open sights…. Beautiful rifles in general!

I get that it is useful to have a switch barrel rifle in countries that limit the number of guns one can own. Not here yet though.

Many of these straight-pull rifles seem to just be modified semi-autos, apparently for use in countries that have already banned all semi-autos.

When I lifted a Strasser at the big spring Calgary gun show a few years ago (the last one) it seemed way too heavy, even without a scope.

And when a rifle seems heavy in the store you can be sure it will seem even heavier on the hunt.

Fair enough, since many European rifles are now designed for stand hunting with a minimum of carrying.

But for all other types of hunting...the Strasser is too heavy.
