I put this questions already for 2 days in optics so far no answers, that is why I put it here , if it is the wrong place , please delete the thread .

Hello,

Anybody have used one of those STREAMLIGHT TLR-2 (light + laser) on their handgun, and how do you like it.

Purpose :It looks cool.

Does the price , justify anyone to buy one.

Thanks

I have a TLR-2 but no railed pistols at this time:( Very good light and a highly visible laser for the first 100yards in daylight(tree'd area) Great for a home defense pistol or fun on a 22lr plinker ect. Remember that you will need a new holster as well. Worth the $$$ if you can. I think you can get new ones for around 275?

Edit Was off by a bit.... http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=218866

Streamlight makes a solid product indeed - the laser is quite a neat little addition, but based on what I've read, not something to trust your life to.

Not to toot my own horn, but if you're looking for something a little lower in the price department, but still pretty cool, I've got an M3 LED by Insight Technologies up on the forum right now.

Wich is better ? TLR2 or the X200L ? I too am looking for a lazer light combo and was wondering wich?? Are they both LED ? And who stocks them ?? Is there an X300 with laser (X300L) ??

It's better to compare the TLR-1 (no laser) with the Surefire X200.

The x300 with a laser is called the x400. It's available in the States right now, but I've never seen it up here.

I have a TLR-2 on the way - I'll post my thoughts once it arrives!

I was set on an Insight M6X (120 lumens light & laser)for my Walther...'till I realized the darn thing woulda stuck out about 1.5 to 2" from the boomboom end of the barrel. I ended up buying an X2L (down to 40 lumens & laser). Had it delivered to the states due to a finnicky US seller.
I too will report on my observations.

I have a TLR-1 from Dave's Surplus. Love it.

I have had lights from Surefire, Insight and Streamlight. All of them make 100% top quality product, but overall, my experience with Streamlight has been best, just my personal preference, you could not go wrong with any of them.

I just got my TLR-2 in the mail today!

Very solid housing. It's much better made than my Insight UTL for my USP.
Laser and light are both very bright. You can do laser, light, or laser+light via a three-way toggle switch. I`ve never been a big fan of lasers, but tried out a Kimber with Crimson trace grips and wanted one to play around with. I got the TLR-2 for less than I could get the CT grips for, and a light never hurts!

I`ll post some pics of it on my Kimber Warrior later on...
