Strike eagle

So vortex has a BDC dial on the 1× Spitfire now but not the 3x....and still none on the Strike Eagle. Sigh.

Why would you need it? The dot within ring within ring but the strike eagle has the holdover hash marks. Maybe I'm missing something don't have any experience with either

I prefer to dial. My brain is wired to hold centre, not a hash. Also, a given load may not match the BDC. A a dial lets you adjust by a couple of clicks. Simple enough to make a range card and keep that with you or with the rifle.

Just more options with the dial in my opinion.

Also, with no hash marks, the sight picture can be less cluttered.

I'm used to what I'm used to and somewhat cranky about doing things differently than I am used to already :)

Lol I get it. Thanks for explanation I wasn't sure if I was missing something. That's why I'm leading towards just a 1x with Bdc turret for this 10.5. I like aiming centre as well especially on a short , lightish rifle that will be used for fast plinking fun

I think a BDC reticle is best when speed is more important than precision (e.g. IPSC rifle, 3-gun, dense bush hunting) while a BDC dial is best when precision is more important than speed (e.g. Service rifle, hunting from a static position).

Choose your optic for your application.
