Hello all, hoping for some insight:
Long story short - I have had this problem with my DA/SA Taurus 24/7 Pro since I bought it used 2 years ago. The trigger is pulled and I get a click and no boom once out of every 10-15 shots (90% of time on first round in a string, but sometimes, rarely, mid string). Have read everywhere, posted on forums and still can't fix the issue. I had a new discovery today while tinkering with it: when the slide is pulled back and allowed to slam forward (by using the slide release), the trigger is in DA mode, and this is when most, if not all, of my issues occur. When it is pulled back and guided forward, the trigger sets into SA. Whenever I get a click and no boom, the primer has been struck but very lightly and more often than not, the round will go off on the second trigger pull using second strike capability.
Just wondering if anyone had suggestions on parts to look at replacing or working on. I have cleaned the striker channel numerous times and tried lots of oil, no oil and a normal amount of oil which was the recommended first course of action. I'm wondering if it is a double action issue causing light strikes but second strike, which usually works, would be DA, no? Just guessing on these though, and I'm hoping someone can shed some light.
Thank you so much in advance!
PS - Taurus lifetime warranty only applies in Canada if you bought the pistol from them according to the dealer I spoke to here
