So...I'm working on a project that will piss off some libs ;)
Doing a lookalike black rifle, but I need a very compact trigger group, so I need to find a donor gun for a conversion, and it needs to be striker fired (ie: Hammer is in-line with the bolt and released via a sear as opposed to a pivoting hammer contained in the action)

Anybody have any models they could suggest?

Thanks!

If you're thinking what I'm thinking please do not; I'd hate for slides to be considered registered parts.
Thanks.

A good rifle that meets this description might be one of the Austrian Voere closed-bolt semis. A quality rifle you can still get used for a reasonable price in Canada. Nice slow-cycling heavy bolt. Overbuilt. Very reliable.

LOL...no worries guys. It's not for anything illegal, just building a "lookalike" black rifle (only in .22 :D) and because of the space restraints for the trigger group I need something without a pivoting hammer.

Reg~ I actually just sold a voere.....LOL. Wouldn't have worked anyway, too much space between the trigger guard and the magwell.

Squires Bingham M16 is apparently non restricted and is striker fired as you require.

Are you sure? I assumed the firing mechanism would be the same as the model 20 (hammer)

It's a hammer, but it's an in-line hammer, so the hammer isn't in the trigger-group; does the calibre matter?

It SOUNDS like a Luger upper would work for what you're considering, but there are also a few other designs that you could work with; the Mech Tech conversion works in the same way.

I'm sure. I had three of them over the years and have disassembled the firing pin/striker and springs mechanism several times when a screw that held the top to the bottom fell out.
