+2 for walter when he responds to emails or remembers to actually do the transfer... yes I'm giving him a hard time....

I am with Bear..... Seems like Walter is too busy that he tends to 'forget/neglect' responding to e-mails:rolleyes: ..... It is frustrating.....:(

+3 - I just (moments ago) bought another one from him. I like dealing with people who are professional and friendly at the same time.

And the stag lowers are really well made. Parts kits slip right in, no junk in the holes, no crudely-ground-off forging lines.

Everybody is not perfect. Back on track I always enjoyed great service from Walter. No I'm not giving him hard time.;)

I love my Eagle arms / Armalite Division lower. DPMS parts kit dropped in slicker than snot on a doorknob.

Go for whatever fits your budget since they are all quality lowers. I also have a Bushy lower built up that I compete with and I just love it.

Now if only Armalite would ship those mid-lenth barrels and related kit to Wolverine soonest, so I can tweak my Service Rifle competition rig soon.

Cheers,
Barney

since this would be my first ar this advice is greatly appreciated, is there any reason why the stag lower (for cheaper) would not be as good as lets say the bushy from questar? or am i basically just picking a name thats going to be on the gun.

I would say no. These Lowers seem to be all about the same quality wise. What is left then as you say the name... or rollmarks. Do you like the deer head (STAG) on the side, or the snake (Bushmaster)? That is pretty much it. My preference is Colt, LMT, STAG in that order.

Then it is just a matter if you want to match the Upper with the Lower. I would but that is just my preference. Many don't. Also, when someone asks me at the range... I wanna say... its a Colt, it's a STAG, etc. Purist I guess.

sorry for my lack of education but if i were to get a stag lower would there be problems if i dropped in lets say an armalite Lower Parts Kit from Wolverine....do the brands have to match? i realize a complete lower and a complete upper of different brands don't have to match but what about swaping parts in the lower? thanks

Use the search function. Or read up online somewhere! Sorry to be an ass but these questions have been answered a million times over.
To answer your question though, yes that'll work out fine.

Stag, RRA, and Armalite are excellent quality. You will not have a problem (or at least shouldn't) putting quality parts from different manufactures together.
I have a 3 Stag lowers, 2 have parts in them from Colt, Armalite & RRA without issues.
