Stripped screw hole in synthetic stock

I took the action off my Savage to adjust the trigger pull and took the screw off the rear portion of the trigger guard (didn't realize that I didn't have to do that). When I screwed it back in I put a bit too much torque on it and stripped the inside portion of the screw hole (where the screw goes into the synthetic stock). The two action screws ahead of the trigger guard are fine...just have the issue with the rear trigger guard screw.

Does anyone know of a fix I can do to get that screw to hold? It appears to only hold the rear of the trigger guard onto the stock and it uses a self tapping screw into the synthetic material.

Do you mean fill the hole with the epoxy and put the screw in and allow to set? Or do you mean fill the hole, allow the epoxy to set and drill hole for screw?

Either would work. If you don't want to glue the screw into the stock, coat it with wax, so the epoxy won't bond to it. Then you could turn it out after the expoxy has cured. Just be sure the screw is seated.
